Ben Byczynski was raised in rural Redwood Valley in Mendocino County and learned the wine business early when he worked side by side with his father to plant and nurture an organic Sauvignon Blanc vineyard. This early experience, helping his father, inspired Ben’s interest in growing grapes. While studying viticulture at Santa Ben received his B.S. in viticulture from California State University, Fresno, in 2001. After graduating, he returned to Sonoma County and became Trione Vineyards’ full-time viticulturist. Ben brings the latest trends and techniques in viticulture to the vineyards at Trione. He has managed rootstock and clonal trials on every conceivable soil type and vineyard site at Trione Vineyards. Ben is an active member of the grape-growing community and currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors for the Alexander Valley Winegrowers Association. His home is in the Russian River Valley. |
